Prime Minister Chính Directs Ministries to Enhance Early Childhood Education Policies

Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính has instructed relevant ministries to conduct a thorough review and establish policies aimed at mobilizing all available resources for early childhood education. These policies will focus on taxation, land access, credit, and human resources, with a particular emphasis on enhancing the quality of human resources dedicated to early childhood education.

The directive was issued during the Prime Minister’s chairing of a meeting of the committee on the renewal and development of early childhood education by 2030, held on Thursday in Hà Nội.

Prime Minister Chính emphasized the paramount importance of education and training, affirming that they are among the top national policies recognized by both the Party and the State. He underscored this by quoting President Hồ Chí Minh’s teaching: “For the sake of ten years, we must plant trees, for the sake of 100 years, we must cultivate people.” He reiterated that investing in education equates to investing in development.

The Prime Minister highlighted the necessity for fundamental and comprehensive reforms in education and training, including early childhood education, in alignment with the Party and State’s guidelines and policies. He stressed the importance of adapting to the country’s development trends and circumstances, particularly in the context of industrialization and modernization.

Innovations in early childhood education, especially for children aged three to five, were emphasized, with a focus on resource mobilization through public-private cooperation.

Participants at the meeting echoed the significance of early childhood education in the national education system and strategic human resource development. They acknowledged the commendable progress made in recent years due to the issuance of various guidelines and policies by the Party and the State.

Despite these achievements, challenges such as classroom shortages, inadequate teaching staff, and insufficient teaching equipment persist.

In response to the evolving needs of the country, Prime Minister Chính tasked the Ministry of Education and Training with absorbing the committee’s feedback and continuing to refine reports. These reports will be submitted to competent authorities to issue appropriate documents aimed at renewing and developing early childhood education in line with the Party’s and the State’s directives.

The overarching goal is to revitalize early childhood education programs, enhance resource mobilization mechanisms, and create conducive conditions for innovation and development in this critical sector.
