Putin and Ilham Aliyev Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Ties and Regional Peace Efforts
Baku, The Gulf Observer: On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, where the two leaders reviewed the outcomes of Putin’s recent state visit to Azerbaijan, as reported by NHC.
During the call, both presidents commended the successful results of the visit and expressed confidence that the implementation of the agreements reached would significantly enhance the partnership and strategic alliance between Azerbaijan and Russia.
The discussion also addressed the current situation in the South Caucasus, with President Putin reaffirming Russia’s commitment to advancing the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He emphasized Russia’s readiness to continue supporting efforts toward regional stability and peace.
In addition to these topics, the two leaders exchanged views on the proposed transport corridor that would connect the western regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, a project seen as pivotal to regional connectivity and economic development.
