Putin invites Turkmenistan’s President to Victory Day celebration in Moscow

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov had a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday. During the phone call, President Putin invited his Turkmen counterpart to participate in the events to be held in Moscow on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of Victory Day.

President Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the Turkmen-Russian strategic partnership is developing in a range of areas, the official Turkmen media reported.

The President expressed gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin for his efforts in building and fortifying the bilateral ties, recalling fondly his first official visit to Russia in June 2022 and the subsequent Declaration on the deepening of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

During the conversation, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that the Great Patriotic War and the victory over fascism have a special place in the common historical memory. “We pay tribute to those who fought, not sparing their lives for the victory, and we treat war veterans living among us with reverence, with great attention, stressing that we will continue to pay special attention to this,” the head of state said.

At the end of the conversation, the two presidents reaffirmed their readiness to cooperate and exchanged wishes of prosperity and well-being for their respective nations.
