Qatar launched back-to-school campaign

Doha, The Gulf Observer: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education, in cooperation with Mowasalat (Karwa) and Doha Festival City, yesterday launched the back-to-school campaign for 2022-23 academic year.

Various activities will be held under the campaign which will continue until August 20, 2022 from 3pm to 8pm at Doha Festival City.

The event yesterday witnessed a great interaction from children and parents who were keen to accompany their children to the event pavilion that provided children with educational programs in an entertaining way. The opening ceremony was attended by Director of the Public Relations and Communication Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Omar Al Yafei, and Director of Karwa Driving School, Faisal Al Nuaimi, and a number of Doha Festival City officials.

Fahad Saad Al Qahtani, CEO of Mowasalat (Karwa), said: “We always put the safety of our children at the top of our priorities, and out of our responsibility to provide safe daily school transportation.”

He said: “We are pleased to organize the Back to School event with our partners the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Doha Festival City.”

He said that the event aim to encourage students to welcome the new school year, in addition to educating them about the elements of safety in school buses in an innovative and interesting way.

“We are working to instill a culture of the benefits of mass transportation (school transportation) and its role in preserving a sustainable environment,” said Al Qahtani. Robert Hull, General Manager of Doha Festival City, expressed his happiness to cooperate with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and Mowasalat (Karwa) to celebrate the start of a new school year and facilitate the return to school.

“We have planned the back-to-school celebrations to thrill the students and prepare them to return to their educational path,” he added. He said that Doha Festival City supports governmental and non-governmental initiatives that promote education, health and sustainability in the community through the #FestivalCares program. Omar Al Yafei, Director of Public Relations and Communication stressed the ministry’s interest in children and new students with the aim of supporting them in preparing to enter schools, starting from the slogan ‘With Knowledge, We Build Qatar’.

He said that the Ministry is also educating students about their safety while riding buses, promoting the values of cooperation, working with each other in school activities. Mowasalat (Karwa) is participating this campaign by educating students about the importance of transportation and the safety and security factors that the company provides on buses.

Faisal Al Nuaimi, Director of Karwa Driving School said: “We strive to ensure the safety of students through several projects, including training courses for drivers and technology used in buses to follow the movement of children on and off.”
