Romania Conducts Ninth Humanitarian Medical Evacuation from Gaza

Romania

Bucharest, The Gulf Observer: Romania has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the civilian population in the Gaza Strip by carrying out a new emergency medical evacuation operation.

On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE), in close coordination with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of National Defence (MApN), and other Romanian state institutions, conducted a humanitarian flight from Gaza using a Romanian Air Force C-130 Hercules aircraft.

This ninth evacuation mission organized by Romania transported 10 pediatric patients and 28 accompanying Palestinian citizens to Romania for medical assistance.

The operation was made possible through the involvement of the MAE, with the support of the Romanian Embassy in Tel Aviv, the Office of the Representative of Romania in Ramallah, MApN, the Department for Emergency Situations (DSU), the Ministry of Health, and several non-governmental organizations in Romania. These institutions worked together to ensure safe transfer, transportation, and adequate medical care for the evacuees during the flight and upon their arrival in Romania.

Romania continues to play an active role in humanitarian relief efforts, underscoring its solidarity with the people of Gaza through medical support and emergency assistance.
