Romanian Foreign Minister Meets U.S. Secretary of State to Strengthen Strategic Partnership
Washington, October 9, 2025 – The Europe Today: Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Iteoiu, held political-diplomatic consultations with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio during her official visit to the United States from October 8–9, 2025.
The meeting in Washington provided an opportunity for a substantive exchange of views on strengthening the Romania–U.S. Strategic Partnership and identifying new avenues for bilateral cooperation.
Discussions focused on several key areas, including:
- Enhancing cooperation in defense and security;
- Advancing joint energy projects;
- Intensifying economic exchanges;
- Supporting a positive and active common role in the broader Black Sea region.
The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed its commitment to developing a solid and lasting bilateral partnership for the benefit of both nations.
