Regional Stability

Bucharest, The Gulf Observer: Romania’s Foreign Minister Oana Țoiu has expressed full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and other regional countries affected by recent Iranian attacks, following a telephone conversation with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates.

In a statement after the call, Țoiu underlined that trust between peoples and nations is strengthened in times of crisis, noting that her discussion with the Emirati counterpart reaffirmed the importance of close cooperation and diplomatic engagement during periods of heightened tension.

The two ministers reviewed the scope of the recent attacks and the air defence measures implemented in response, as well as the steps taken by UAE authorities to safeguard residents and foreign nationals. Particular attention was given to the situation of Romanian citizens currently in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, including those stranded due to disruptions affecting airports and border crossings.

Minister Țoiu thanked the Emirati authorities for their assistance in ensuring the safety of Romanian nationals and confirmed that both sides would maintain direct contact to support diplomatic dialogue on the ground.

She emphasised that sustained diplomatic engagement between the regions remains essential, both for protecting citizens and for coordinating future steps aimed at de-escalation and stability.
