Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Royal Opera House Muscat is set to host the much-anticipated 2024 Ramadan concert series, presenting a unique celebration of peace and devotion through three distinct musical evenings. In a harmonious blend of international and Omani talent, the series aims to deepen connections to the season through Sufi, Nasheed, and chanting.

Commencing on March 18, the series opens with the enchanting Ibn Arabi Ensemble from Morocco, featuring the Al Zawya Ensemble of Oman. Specializing in Sufi instrumental and chanting, the ensemble focuses on reviving well-known tunes, drawing inspiration from famous Sufi poets such as Ibn Arabi, Ibn Al Farid, Rabi’a Al Adawiya, Abu Al Najib Suhrawardi, and others.

Following the captivating debut, the second concert on March 25 will showcase the Mawlawiyyin and Levantine Religious Chants Group of Syria. A quartet of vocalists, accompanied by instrumentalists and a choir, will lead the praise. Oman’s esteemed chant performer, Khalid Al Araimi, will join the group for an exquisite display of cultural harmony.

Concluding the series on April 1, the Royal Opera House will welcome renowned Egyptian artist Ali El Helbawy. Known for his exceptional religious chanting, El Helbawy, accompanied by his ensemble and a choir, will present prayerful Nasheeds, Sufi, and religious chants.

The concerts, scheduled for 9.30 pm at the Royal Opera House of Musical Arts, unite international ensembles with Omani participants, fostering authentic global partnerships through the universal language of culture. The series offers a cultural feast, celebrating diversity and promoting unity during the sacred month of Ramadan.
