Saudi Arabia and China Sign Executive Program to Enhance Cultural Cooperation

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: The Ministry of Culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the China-Arab Cultural and Tourism Cooperation Research Center have signed an executive program aimed at strengthening cultural collaboration between Saudi Arabia and the People’s Republic of China.
The signing ceremony took place in Diriyah and comes in alignment with the upcoming 2025 Saudi-Chinese Cultural Year, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The executive program was signed by Maha Abdullah Alsenan, Deputy Minister for Research and Cultural Heritage Affairs at the Saudi Ministry of Culture, and Cheng Wei, Vice President of Beijing International Studies University and a member of the joint committee of the China-Arab Cultural and Tourism Cooperation Research Center.
The program outlines a broad framework for joint cultural initiatives, including collaborative research projects, shared archival work, and the compilation of cultural materials from national repositories. It also envisions organizing joint conferences and facilitating academic and professional exchanges between cultural researchers from both countries.
The agreement further supports exchange programs allowing Saudi researchers to visit Chinese universities and research institutions, and vice versa. It also includes provisions for accessing cultural experts, launching fellowship programs, and offering consultative and technical assistance to enhance bilateral cultural cooperation.
This initiative falls under the umbrella of Saudi Arabia’s National Culture Strategy and supports the goals of Vision 2030, which aims to bolster international cultural engagement and showcase the Kingdom’s cultural heritage on a global stage.
