Saudi Arabia Launches Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Global Ramadan Programs for 1447 AH

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Sheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, on Sunday launched the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Ramadan programs for 1447 AH in Riyadh, unveiling a wide-ranging set of humanitarian and religious initiatives aimed at serving Muslims worldwide.

The annual programs include large-scale iftar initiatives, distribution of copies of the Holy Qur’an and its translations, and the gifting of dates to Muslim communities across 120 countries.

Under the initiative, 2.2 million copies of the Holy Qur’an and its translations will be distributed globally. Additionally, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Gift Program for Distributing Dates will provide 1,000 tons of dates this year—an increase of 300 tons compared with last year—reaching 120 countries, including 18 new beneficiary nations.

As part of the Ramadan outreach efforts, the ministry will also dispatch 91 imams to lead prayers in 49 countries during the holy month, further strengthening spiritual ties with Muslim communities abroad.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Al-Sheikh emphasized that the programs embody a global humanitarian message rooted in the Kingdom’s Islamic values. He said the initiatives reflect the leadership’s commitment to extending goodness to Muslims around the world and underscore Saudi Arabia’s pioneering role in serving Islam and the Muslim Ummah.

The minister added that the programs promote the principles of moderation, tolerance, and solidarity, while sharing the blessings and joy of Ramadan with diverse communities. He affirmed that the ministry has mobilized all human and organizational resources to ensure the efficient delivery of the initiatives, reinforcing the Kingdom’s humanitarian presence and its enduring commitment to spreading peace and serving Muslims worldwide.
