Saudi Arabia Launches Five New Tech Talent Schools to Foster Future-Ready Generation

New Tech Talent Schools

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with Tuwaiq Academy, has announced the establishment of five new tech talent schools across key regions of Saudi Arabia — Riyadh, Madinah, Eastern Province, Qassim, and Jeddah — set to open in the 1447 academic year. This major initiative targets first-year secondary students demonstrating exceptional aptitude in technical fields.

The move follows the successful inauguration of the Kingdom’s first government-run technology high school for gifted students in Riyadh in December 2024, which served as a pioneering model for the integration of academic and technical education.

These specialized institutions will offer a blended curriculum that combines the national academic syllabus with intensive, industry-aligned technical programs. Designed to meet the demands of emerging and high-growth sectors, the schools will focus on disciplines such as computer science, artificial intelligence, mechatronics, and cybersecurity.

Beyond technical education, students will engage in enriched learning experiences through critical thinking modules, leadership development, and comprehensive tech training tracks. A variety of co-curricular activities — including scientific competitions, summer innovation programs, and recreational events — will further support the formation of well-rounded, tech-savvy students.

“This initiative represents a significant step in equipping Saudi youth with the digital competencies required to thrive in tomorrow’s economy,” a Ministry spokesperson said. “It reflects our commitment to building a future-ready generation and accelerating the Kingdom’s transformation into a knowledge-based, digital economy.”

The new tech talent schools are part of the Ministry of Education’s broader strategic vision to foster innovation, nurture national talent, and support the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
