New York, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, has reaffirmed the Kingdom’s steadfast commitment to the Palestinian cause as it prepares to co-chair a high-level ministerial conference on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict this week in New York, alongside France.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Prince Faisal emphasized that the Kingdom’s co-presidency of the peace conference reflects its long-standing position in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and the pursuit of a just and comprehensive peace, anchored in the two-state solution.

“The Kingdom, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and with close follow-up by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, is exerting every effort to promote a just peace in the Middle East,” Prince Faisal stated.

He added that Saudi Arabia remains committed to advancing international peace and security through constructive diplomacy and continues to work toward ending the suffering of the Palestinian people under prolonged Israeli occupation.

The Saudi-French initiative comes at a time of increased international engagement aimed at revitalizing the two-state solution framework. The upcoming conference, which will take place at the United Nations headquarters with broad international participation, is expected to advance the implementation of relevant UN resolutions and calls for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Prince Faisal further noted that the conference builds on the momentum generated by the September 2024 launch of the international coalition for the two-state solution, an initiative jointly led by Saudi Arabia, Norway, and the European Union.

He also stressed that this diplomatic effort complements the work of the joint Arab-Islamic ministerial committee, which aims to end the suffering of the Palestinian people, secure their right to self-determination, and promote lasting peace and stability across the Middle East.
