Saudi Arabia Reaffirms Rejection of Forced Palestinian Displacement at Arab Summit

Baghdad, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Arabia has reiterated its firm opposition to the forced displacement of Palestinians and reaffirmed its longstanding support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir said Saturday at the 34th Arab League Summit in Baghdad.
Speaking before regional leaders, Al-Jubeir stressed that “under no circumstances” would the Kingdom accept the displacement of the Palestinian people and called for urgent efforts to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
“The exceptional circumstances facing the Palestinian cause require us to intensify joint efforts to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinian people and to stop the crimes and violations committed by the Israeli occupation forces,” Al-Jubeir declared, denouncing the actions as “flagrant violations of the UN Charter and international law.”
He also underscored the necessity of a sustainable ceasefire in Gaza and firmly opposed any imposed solutions that compromise Palestinian rights to self-determination and statehood based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital.
In his address, Al-Jubeir also condemned Israeli strikes on Syrian territory, stressing support for Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent decision to lift sanctions on Syria, describing it as “a great opportunity for recovery, development, and reconstruction.”
Touching on broader regional issues, the Saudi official reaffirmed his country’s mediation efforts in Sudan, calling for an immediate ceasefire, unhindered humanitarian access, and protection of the country’s unity and sovereignty.
Regarding Yemen, Al-Jubeir emphasized Saudi Arabia’s commitment to a comprehensive political solution, while also advocating for freedom of navigation and maritime security in international waters.
On Lebanon, Al-Jubeir expressed full support for President Joseph Aoun’s reform agenda and urged the consolidation of arms under the authority of the state. He voiced hope for a stable and unified Lebanon that meets the aspirations of its people.
In conclusion, Al-Jubeir called for enhanced Arab cooperation, regional development, and collective action toward achieving peace, stability, and prosperity across the Arab world
