Saudi Arabia

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Arabia on Friday welcomed the announcement of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, describing it as a “new phase of understanding, cooperation, and the consolidation of security and stability in the Caucasus region.”

In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs commended the role of the United States in facilitating the accord and reaffirmed the Kingdom’s steadfast support for all initiatives aimed at ending conflicts and promoting opportunities for peace and development in conflict-affected regions worldwide.

“The Kingdom looks forward to this agreement marking the start of a new era that serves the interests of the peoples of both countries and the region as a whole,” the ministry said.

The peace deal, jointly announced by Baku and Yerevan, finalizes the draft agreement on peace and normalization of relations. It comes after months of negotiations mediated by the United States and Europe, which included undisclosed high-level meetings in Washington.

Saudi Arabia reiterated its commitment to supporting diplomatic efforts that foster stability, cooperation, and prosperity at the regional and global levels.
