Saudi Cabinet Reiterates Call for Urgent International Intervention to End Gaza Famine and Halt Israeli Aggression

Jeddah, The Gulf Observer: The Saudi Council of Ministers, chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on Tuesday renewed the Kingdom’s urgent appeal to the international community, particularly the permanent members of the UN Security Council, to intervene immediately to end the famine in the Gaza Strip and stop the ongoing war crimes and genocide committed by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people.
In a statement issued to the Saudi Press Agency following the Cabinet session, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary said the Council reaffirmed the Kingdom’s full support for the outcomes of the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held in Jeddah on Monday. The meeting addressed the escalating Israeli aggression against Palestinians and sought to establish coordinated mechanisms to halt the genocide and counter Israeli policies aimed at entrenching occupation and taking full control of Gaza.
The Cabinet stressed that Israel’s continued violations without accountability undermine international law, destabilize the global order, and risk broadening the scope of conflict, thereby threatening regional and global peace and security. The Council strongly condemned Israel’s incursions into Syrian territory and interference in its internal affairs, affirming Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support for Syria’s sovereignty, unity, and stability while rejecting all separatist calls to divide the country.
At the outset of the session, King Salman briefed the Cabinet on the contents of a message received from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi regarding bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation across multiple fields. The Council was also briefed on Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman’s reception of the Egyptian President and his phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who praised Saudi Arabia’s constructive role in promoting dialogue and global peace.
The Council further reiterated the Kingdom’s call on all Sudanese parties to adhere to the Jeddah Declaration signed in May 2023, emphasizing the protection of civilians, the safeguarding of humanitarian corridors, and prioritizing national interests to end internal conflict.
Domestically, the Cabinet reviewed comprehensive statistics on Umrah pilgrims this year, reaffirming its commitment to facilitating comfort and safety for visitors from their arrival to departure. It also commended the success of the King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran, which recorded the participation of 179 contestants from 128 countries — a testament to the Kingdom’s leadership in serving Islam and its values.
The Council lauded the strong community participation in the annual national blood donation campaign launched by the Crown Prince to promote humanitarian values and ensure sustainable national blood supplies. It also praised the Human Resources Development Fund for facilitating the employment of 267,000 citizens in the private sector during the first half of 2025, reinforcing the Kingdom’s efforts to empower its workforce and strengthen labor market competitiveness.
The Council welcomed the successful conclusion of the Esports World Cup, attended by the Crown Prince, noting it as part of the national strategy to establish a globally competitive esports sector capable of providing 39,000 jobs and contributing SR50 billion to the GDP by 2030.
In legislative and international cooperation developments, the Cabinet approved the Law for the Expropriation of Real Estate in the Public Interest and endorsed the updated development strategy for the Asir region.
