Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney held a phone call on Thursday to discuss ways to deepen bilateral relations and enhance cooperation across multiple sectors, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

During the call, the two leaders explored prospects for expanding collaboration between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Canada in areas of mutual interest. Both sides underscored the importance of further developing ties in trade, investment, and energy security.

The leaders also reviewed the situation in the Middle East, expressing a shared commitment to promoting sustainable peace and stability in the region.

According to a statement from the Canadian Prime Minister’s Office, discussions included strengthening energy security and enhancing trade relations between Riyadh and Ottawa. Both leaders agreed to maintain close communication moving forward.

Prime Minister Carney assumed office in March 2025 following the resignation of former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and secured an electoral victory in May. His call with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman marks a step toward revitalizing bilateral engagement between Canada and Saudi Arabia.
