Saudi Crown Prince and President Trump Sign Strategic Economic Partnership Agreement

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and President Donald J. Trump of the United States of America co-chaired the Saudi-U.S. Summit held today at the Royal Court in Al-Yamamah Palace.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the high-level summit reviewed the robust bilateral relations between the Kingdom and the United States and explored ways to further strengthen their strategic partnership across multiple sectors. Discussions also encompassed pressing regional and international developments, along with issues of mutual concern, focusing on joint efforts to promote regional security and global stability.

During the summit, the two leaders signed a Strategic Economic Partnership Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the United States of America, marking a new chapter of cooperation and mutual investment.

In addition, the Crown Prince and President Trump witnessed the signing and announcement of a series of landmark bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs), including:

  • A Memorandum of Understanding on Energy Cooperation between the Saudi Ministry of Energy and the U.S. Department of Energy.
  • A Memorandum of Intent aimed at the modernization and development of the capabilities of the Saudi Armed Forces through future defense collaborations with the U.S. Department of Defense.
  • A Memorandum of Cooperation in Mining and Mineral Resources between the Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the U.S. Department of Energy.
  • A Letter of Intent to enhance cooperation in ammunition, training, maintenance, system modernization, and education for the Ministry of the National Guard’s land and air systems.
  • A Memorandum of Understanding between the Saudi Ministry of Interior’s International Partnership Programme and the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) under the Department of Justice.
  • A Letter of Intent between the Saudi Ministry of Defense and the U.S. Department of Defense to develop the health capabilities of the Saudi Armed Forces.
  • A Memorandum of Understanding on Judicial Cooperation between the Saudi Ministry of Justice and the U.S. Department of Justice.
  • An Executive Agreement between the Saudi Space Agency and the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) for cooperation on the Space Weather CubeSat project within the Artemis II Mission.
  • A Customs Mutual Assistance Agreement to enhance customs collaboration.
  • A Protocol of Amendment to the existing Saudi-U.S. Air Transport Agreement to reflect enhanced cooperation in civil aviation.
  • A Memorandum of Understanding between the Saudi National Institute of Health Research and the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for collaboration in infectious disease research.
  • A Collaboration Agreement between the Royal Commission for AlUla and the Smithsonian Institution’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute.
  • A Collaboration Agreement between the Royal Commission for AlUla and the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Asian Art.

These agreements reflect a shared vision for long-term cooperation across critical sectors such as defense, energy, health, science, and culture, reinforcing the enduring partnership between Saudi Arabia and the United States.
