Saudi FM Calls for Peace and Cooperation at ACD

Doha, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, took part in the third Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) summit on Thursday, highlighting the importance of enhanced regional cooperation and dialogue among Asian nations. The summit, held in Doha, serves as a platform for countries across the continent to address key challenges and opportunities for collaboration in various sectors.
In his address, Prince Faisal emphasized that Asia’s development efforts are intrinsically linked to the region’s political and security challenges. He pointed to the ongoing crises in Palestine and Lebanon as major obstacles to economic growth and trade, stressing that the continuation of aggression and violations in the region severely hinders international trade, elevates political tensions, and jeopardizes the flow of investments.
“The continuation of aggression and violations in the region hinder the movement of international trade and increase political tensions that threaten the flow of investments and economic cooperation between the countries of the region and the world,” Prince Faisal stated. He urged that peaceful, diplomatic solutions be pursued to resolve these conflicts, asserting that stability and prosperity in the region are essential for the global economy.
Prince Faisal also expressed Saudi Arabia’s gratitude for the ACD countries’ support for the two-state solution and recognition of the State of Palestine, calling on other nations to follow suit in supporting peace efforts in the region.
In addition, the Foreign Minister highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to sports diplomacy, stating that Saudi Arabia views it as an effective means to foster dialogue and promote peace and stability. He noted the Kingdom’s active role in this field, through hosting major international sporting events, as part of its broader efforts to enhance regional and global cooperation.
The summit reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s strategic priorities in promoting peace, security, and economic collaboration across Asia and beyond.
