Serdar Berdimuhamedov Hosts Key Meetings at ECO Ministerial Forum

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan engaged in high-level discussions in Ashgabat with senior officials attending the inaugural Ministerial Forum on Sustainable Development of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), held in the city of Arkadag. The meetings were reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
Among the dignitaries meeting with President Berdimuhamedov were the Secretary General of the ECO, Asad Majid Khan, the Vice President and Head of the Planning and Budget Organization of Iran, Seyed Hamid Pourmohammadi, the Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of Staff of the Government of Kazakhstan, Galymzhan Koishybayev, the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Achilbay Ramatov, and the Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives of Pakistan, Ahsan Iqbal.
The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral and regional cooperation, with an emphasis on strengthening friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnerships. The leaders reiterated their shared commitment to expanding trade and economic relations, particularly in the energy, transport, and logistics sectors. They also discussed deepening cultural and humanitarian ties between their countries.
President Berdimuhamedov and his counterparts placed significant importance on the implementation of key joint projects, notably the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, as well as the development of new transport corridors designed to enhance regional connectivity.
At the conclusion of the meetings, all participants exchanged warm wishes for the leadership and peoples of their respective nations, expressing confidence in the continued growth of mutually beneficial relations.
The ECO Forum, held on April 27 at the “Markaw” Hotel in Arkadag, was widely praised by the international delegates for its organization and for showcasing Turkmenistan’s modern achievements and commitment to sustainable development.
