Sharjah Chamber Explores Enhanced Economic Ties with Lithuania

Sharjah, The Gulf Observer: The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) engaged in high-level discussions with Ramūnas Davidonis, the Ambassador of Lithuania to the UAE, to explore avenues for enhancing economic cooperation, bolstering trade ties, and fostering investment partnerships between the business communities of both countries. This meeting follows a series of business engagements, including the UAE-Lithuanian Business Forum, which culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the first UAE-Lithuanian Business Council.

The discussions took place on Friday at the SCCI headquarters, with Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, and Ramūnas Davidonis leading their respective delegations. Key SCCI representatives present included Halima Humaid Ali Al Owais, Board Member; Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for Communication and Business Sector; Fatima Khalifa Al Muqarrab, Director of the International Relations Department; and Mai Abdullah Bin Haddah Al Suwaidi, Head of Partnerships and International Cooperation.

During the meeting, both parties emphasized their commitment to completing the establishment of the UAE-Lithuanian Business Council. The Council aims to enhance investment opportunities and strategic partnerships between private sector entities and business owners in both nations, thereby boosting UAE-Lithuanian trade exchange volumes.

Discussions also focused on leveraging the UAE’s abundant investment advantages, which include facilitative measures, incentives, and promising opportunities tailored to investors’ needs. The Emirate of Sharjah offers a diverse and attractive investment environment across multiple sectors.

Abdullah Sultan Al Owais noted the significant growth in economic relations between Sharjah and Lithuania in recent years. This growth is reflected in the enhanced coordination and communication among private sector representatives, investors, and business owners. He attributed this progress to the Sharjah Chamber’s dedication to promoting economic cooperation with Lithuania, providing a robust platform for interaction between the business communities of both countries.

“The SCCI has been pivotal in facilitating economic cooperation between the UAE and Lithuania. The Chamber organises numerous meetings, forums, and trade exhibitions to promote the exchange of information and expertise, thereby encouraging joint investment ventures,” Al Owais said. He highlighted the significance of the UAE-Lithuanian Business Forum, organized by the UAE Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FCCI), as a crucial opportunity to strengthen bilateral communication and showcase investment opportunities.

Efforts are underway to establish the first UAE-Lithuanian Business Council, which is expected to solidify economic ties and stimulate bilateral investment flows, further enhancing the partnership between the two nations.
