Sharjah Grand Prix Kicks Off as Final Round
Sharjah, The Gulf Observer: The final round of the Grand Prix of Sharjah, part of the F1H2O UIM World Championship, commenced on Friday at Khalid Lagoon in Sharjah under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. The event, running from December 6 to 8, is a key part of the “Sharjah World Championship Week.”
Issam Mohammed Khalifa Al Kaabi, Director of the Events and Projects Department at the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), officially launched the “Sharjah World Championship Week” and the 2024 World Championship for Powerboat Racing – Formula 1 – Road to Sharjah Race, known as the “Sharjah Grand Prix.” Nineteen competitors from nine teams are participating, with four racers locked in a tight contest for the championship title.
Al Kaabi confirmed that all preparations for the event were completed in collaboration with Sharjah’s strategic partners, the government, and the federal authorities. He also introduced several new attractions for the public, including a dedicated viewing platform, electronic games, a variety of restaurants, and small business projects. The Sharjah Institute for Heritage is also taking part in the festivities.
The competition promises thrilling action on Khalid Lake, and Al Kaabi encouraged the public to attend and witness the excitement of the championship.
