Shavkat Mirziyoyev Hosts Russian Delegation Led by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received a high-ranking delegation from the Russian Federation, led by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, on February 28. The distinguished guest conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to President Mirziyoyev.

During the meeting, both sides engaged in extensive discussions focused on expanding practical cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of construction and regional development. This dialogue follows up on agreements made during President Putin’s state visit to Uzbekistan in May 2024.

A key area of focus was the strengthening of full-scale cooperation in the construction sector, with plans for both Russian and Uzbek companies to collaborate in the design and construction of infrastructure projects. The exchange also emphasized the mutual supply of building materials and equipment as part of ongoing socio-economic development programs in Uzbekistan.

Additionally, the leaders underscored the importance of continued collaboration in areas such as shared-equity construction, digitalization, expertise, design, and public procurement, aiming to leverage the combined experience of both nations for future projects.

The discussions reflect the growing strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Russia, particularly in fostering long-term economic and infrastructural ties.
