Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Attend BRICS Summit in Kazan

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: At the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, will pay a working visit to Kazan on October 23-24 to participate in the BRICS Summit. President Mirziyoyev will deliver an address at the plenary session of the summit, which will take place in the BRICS Plus format, chaired by the Russian side.
The summit’s agenda will focus on strengthening international cooperation to promote inclusive and sustainable development. Global political issues of the day will also be discussed among the summit participants, reflecting the bloc’s commitment to addressing shared challenges.
During his visit, President Mirziyoyev is expected to hold several bilateral meetings aimed at bolstering Uzbekistan’s relations with key BRICS members and further advancing cooperation on regional and global issues.
BRICS, established in 2006, comprises Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. Recently, the alliance expanded to include the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Egypt, and Ethiopia under the BRICS Plus framework, with Uzbekistan playing an increasingly active role in engaging with the bloc’s initiatives.
