Shavkat Mirziyoyev visits Youth Industrial and Entrepreneurial Zone in Termez
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Youth Industrial and Entrepreneurial Zone in Termez.
In accordance with the resolution of the Head of state of April 21, 2021, youth industrial and entrepreneurial zones are being created in all regions of the country, creating favorable conditions for youth business.
Such a zone was created on the territory of “Tinchlik” mahalla in Termez city. The buildings on an area of 2 hectares housed 42 projects in the building materials, chemicals and petrochemicals, furniture production, food, and textile industries. You can purchase premises and equipment and set up production using preferential loans from commercial banks through the Young Entrepreneurs Support Fund. Once all enterprises start operating, more than 500 people can be employed here.
The Head of state inspected the products of the enterprises located here. One of them produces pomegranate juice and exports products to neighboring countries. Another enterprise established the production of clothing and carpets and employed women.
The President emphasized the need to create such industrial zones in every region’s district, to expand handicraft and home-based activities in mahallas. Taking into account two years of experience, an instruction was given to adopt a program for developing youth entrepreneurship in Surkhandarya and to develop proposals to attract $50 million for its implementation.
– Today’s young entrepreneurs are the result of New Uzbekistan. They have new knowledge and approaches. Therefore, industrial zones must be handed over to the youth. This will be a ready-made “project factory” for districts. Responsible persons should only help businesses innovate and enter the market. The main thing is cost, quality, and competition”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
At the same time, it was noted that the region’s youth have great potential in sports, but the available conditions are limited to a few sports. In this regard, an instruction was given to develop a draft resolution involving Surkhandarya youth in sports and to allocate up to 30 billion UZS for these purposes. A kayaking and canoeing base will be organized at the Uchqizil reservoir.
Local industrial products were also demonstrated here, and investment projects were presented. 82 investment projects worth 4 billion 600 million USD are being implemented in Surkhandarya region. Of this, $4 billion is foreign direct investment. These projects will produce value-added goods and create thousands of jobs in energy, chemicals, mining, construction, textiles, and other industries.
