Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Visits Third Liwa Date Festival, Highlights Role in Agricultural Development
Al Dhafra, The Gulf Observer: H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, visited the third Liwa Date Festival and Auction, held under his patronage and organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority.
During his visit to the festival in Madinat Zayed, Sheikh Hamdan praised the event for its pivotal role in promoting sustainable agricultural practices and reinforcing the UAE’s leadership in food security. The festival showcases the rich heritage of date farming and contributes to the advancement of the agricultural sector by supporting Emirati farm owners and producers.
Sheikh Hamdan commended the UAE leadership’s commitment to supporting heritage events and competitions that stimulate growth in agriculture. He was also briefed on the festival’s efforts to market Emirati dates and was shown innovative farming methods used in palm cultivation and date production, further underscoring the importance of modern techniques in sustaining the industry.
