Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Crowns Champions of Inaugural Dubai Premier Padel P1 Tournament
Dubai, The Gulf Observer: His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, presented the winners’ trophies to Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia, champions of the men’s competition, and Bea Gonzalez and Delfina Brea Senesi, champions of the women’s tournament at the first-ever Dubai Premier Padel P1. The awards ceremony took place at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium, concluding a thrilling week of world-class padel featuring elite male and female players vying for a prize pool of AED 1.89 million.
Sheikh Mansoor highlighted the event’s role in solidifying Dubai’s status as a global sports hub, praising the emirate’s world-class infrastructure and supportive environment that have enabled it to host major international events. The Dubai Premier Padel P1, organized by Gallop Global and supported by entities such as the UAE Padel Association (UAEPA), the International Padel Federation (FIP), the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), and Dubai Sports Council, marked a major milestone for padel in the region.
In a high-energy men’s final, Coello and Tapia defeated Federico Chingotto and Alejandro Galan in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, maintaining their 30-match winning streak. Coello, the world’s No. 1 player, expressed his delight at winning in Dubai and emphasized their focus on each match.
In the women’s tournament, Gonzalez and Brea Senesi dominated their final with a 6-2, 6-3 victory. Gonzalez, returning to competition after an injury, expressed her joy at their success and gratitude to Dubai’s leadership for supporting the sport.
Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, UAEPA President, praised Sheikh Mansoor’s support for padel and congratulated the champions, expressing hope that the event would inspire future local talent. Saeed Mohammed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, highlighted Dubai’s reputation for hosting major international sporting events and commended the inaugural tournament’s success.
Ivan Modia, Tournament Director and CEO of Gallop Global, thanked the UAE’s leadership for championing sports and pledged continued efforts to bring world-class padel events to Dubai. The Dubai Premier Padel P1 was supported by Dubai Duty Free and partners such as Joma, Adidas, Aster Pharmacy, Oysho, Greenset Padel, and NOX.
