Dubai, The Gulf Observer: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has announced the launch of a series of strategic projects by Dubai Police valued at AED 2 billion. The initiatives, aimed at bolstering security, enhancing specialized police training, and improving employee wellbeing, include significant investments in housing projects to support family stability within the force.

The announcement was made during His Highness’s visit to the Dubai Police Officers Club in Al Jaddaf. He was accompanied by H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance of the UAE; H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai; and H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council. They were received by Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai, and Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, among other senior officers.

Commending Dubai Police for their dedication, Sheikh Mohammed emphasized Dubai’s status as one of the world’s safest cities, underpinned by advanced security technologies and innovation. He urged the force to continue elevating their standards of service and performance.

During the visit, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed was briefed on multiple high-impact projects, including:

  1. Dubai Police Academy in Al Ruwayyah 1: A comprehensive development covering 155 hectares to accommodate 2,500 cadets and students. The facility includes residential housing for cadet officers, academic zones with classrooms and lecture halls, sports facilities with an Olympic swimming pool, and a main field with a 2,500-spectator capacity. The project, budgeted at AED 1 billion, is expected to be completed by 2027.
  2. New Training Centre in Hatta: Opening in 2025, this centre will host up to 180 students, offering residential facilities, sports fields, and a shooting range.
  3. ‘Area 56’ Unified Centre: With a budget of AED 300 million, this facility will enhance crime prevention through advanced security systems, AI-driven data analysis, and predictive policing.
  4. Dubai Police Housing in Umm Al Daman: The project’s second phase includes 246 residential apartments, green spaces, and various amenities, with a total investment of AED 300 million.
  5. New General Department Building in Al Ruwayyah: Scheduled for completion in 2026, this facility includes training areas, lecture halls, and residential quarters for police personnel.
  6. Expansion of Bur Dubai Police Station: Featuring a Smart Police Station (SPS) and upgraded facilities for various police functions, with a budget of AED 90.9 million.
  7. Forensic Medicine Building: Integrating modern scientific capabilities, including virtual anatomy and a biobank, operating 24/7 to support forensic analysis and research.
  8. Floating Smart Police Station (SPS): The world’s first offshore station at The World Islands, serving maritime enthusiasts with 24/7 services and no human intervention.

Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, expressed gratitude for the leadership and ongoing support of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and praised the force’s commitment to excellence in security both locally and globally.
