Sheikh Zayed Inaugurates Wonderland Entertainment City at Al Wathba

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Chairman of the National Anti-Narcotics Authority, officially inaugurated Wonderland Entertainment City in Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi. He was accompanied by Hamid Saeed Al Neyadi, Director of the Office of the Chairman of the Presidential Court and Vice Chairman of the Sheikh Zayed Festival’s Higher Committee, along with several senior officials.
During his visit, Sheikh Zayed toured the various facilities of the newly established entertainment city, receiving briefings on the latest attractions developed with modern technologies to create a fully integrated family destination. He expressed his admiration for this significant addition to the Sheikh Zayed Festival.
The Higher Committee of the Sheikh Zayed Festival announced that Wonderland officially launched its activities on December 5, following the completion of all preparations to welcome visitors of all ages. The new entertainment city is among the major additions introduced in the 2025–2026 edition of the festival, representing a key enhancement to its diverse attractions.
Wonderland has been designed to offer a complete family entertainment experience, combining enjoyment with safety. The city covers a large area capable of accommodating a significant number of visitors, featuring illuminated walkways and comfortable seating areas that contribute to a vibrant, festive atmosphere. Its strategic location near the main festival plaza ensures easy access from multiple entry points, making it a central destination for attendees.
The entertainment city features a wide range of attractions for children, teens, and adults, including a roller coaster, ice skating rink, haunted house, mirror maze, Net Maze zone, dinosaur park, archery activities, skill-based games, bumper cars, electronic gaming hall, and pony rides for young children. The bowling zone includes a professional hall for adults with advanced electronic lanes and a brightly themed children’s bowling hall with age-appropriate equipment, offering young visitors a safe and engaging experience. The area provides a lively setting for family and group competitions.
All Wonderland facilities have been developed in accordance with the highest safety and quality standards, with careful attention to operational systems, field supervision, and specialized teams managing visitor movement and the use of attractions. Pathways and service areas, including cafés and snack outlets, have been thoughtfully planned to ensure smooth navigation throughout the entertainment city.
The Higher Committee highlighted that the launch of Wonderland aligns with a broader vision to expand recreational options at the festival this season through innovative new zones and experiences tailored for families, youth, and children. This addition further strengthens the festival’s status as a comprehensive cultural and entertainment destination, integrating heritage, arts, culture, and leisure.
The Sheikh Zayed Festival welcomes visitors daily from 4:00 PM to midnight, and from 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM on weekends and public holidays, at Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi. Wonderland remains open throughout the festival’s operating hours.
