Slovenian President Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar Visits Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, President of the Republic of Slovenia, visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi on a cultural tour underscoring the UAE’s commitment to tolerance and peaceful coexistence. She was accompanied by Natalija Mansour, Ambassador of Slovenia to the UAE, and a Slovenian delegation.
The visit began with the delegation paying respects at the mausoleum of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Reflecting on his legacy, the Slovenian President commended Sheikh Zayed’s wisdom and vision, which have greatly contributed to promoting tolerance and coexistence globally.
Guided by Dr. Yousif Al Obaidli, Director General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center, the delegation toured the mosque’s intricate halls and corridors. The group explored the mosque’s mission of fostering a message of coexistence and openness, inspired by the late Founding Father’s values. They also learned about the role of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center in bridging cultures by promoting a deeper understanding of the Islamic faith’s tolerant and peaceful essence.
Dr. Pirc Musar and her delegation were briefed on the mosque’s architectural history, taking in its aesthetic details and diverse Islamic art forms. The tour highlighted the mosque’s harmonious design elements, representing Islamic civilization’s legacy through exquisite artistry and cultural synthesis.
At the conclusion of the visit, Dr. Pirc Musar was presented with a gift capturing the mosque’s beauty and symbolism: floral mosaic designs from the mosque’s exterior columns, a compass inspired by its chandeliers, and a copy of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque: Lights of Peace. This publication, featuring award-winning images from the “Spaces of Light” Photography Award, illustrates the mosque’s architectural magnificence and the UAE’s dedication to peace and unity.
This visit marks a cultural exchange and a celebration of shared values between Slovenia and the UAE, reinforcing the enduring significance of tolerance and mutual understanding.
