Sonja Zhiyenbayeva Advances in 2024 Wimbledon Junior Championships
Astana, The Gulf Observer: World No. 22 on the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Junior Ranking, Sonja Zhiyenbayeva of Kazakhstan, continues her successful run in the 2024 Wimbledon Junior Championships, according to reports from the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation (KTF).
Zhiyenbayeva secured a significant victory in her second-round match, defeating Japanese player Ena Koike, who is ranked 19th in the ITF Juniors, with a score of 6-3, 6-4. Koike also holds the 559th position in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Singles Rankings.
In the upcoming third round, Zhiyenbayeva is set to face Renata Jamrichova, the winner of the 2024 Australian Open Junior Championships and currently ranked 2nd in the ITF Juniors. The match is highly anticipated as both players have shown exceptional skill and determination throughout the tournament.
