Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez Begins Historic Visit to Vietnam

Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez arrived in Hanoi on Tuesday evening, marking the start of his official visit to Vietnam from April 8 to 10, 2025. The visit is at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính and holds significant historical importance as the first official trip by a Spanish Prime Minister to Vietnam since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1977.
This visit is the first high-level trip from Spain to Vietnam since the 2006 visit by King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia. It comes shortly after the two nations celebrated the 15th anniversary of their Strategic Partnership in 2024.
The visit is expected to foster strong momentum in further developing the Vietnam-Spain strategic partnership, elevating it to new heights with greater substance and effectiveness. Both countries are looking forward to enhanced cooperation across various sectors, strengthening bilateral ties, and exploring new opportunities for collaboration in the years to come.
