Sri Lankan Govt. Discusses Measures to Enhance Tourist Experience

Colombo, The Gulf Observer: Digital entry passes for tourist attractions and measures to fast-track tourist visa processing were among the key issues discussed at a meeting held this morning (30) at the Presidential Secretariat, according to the President’s Media Division (PMD).

The meeting focused on improving domestic air services to enhance convenience for tourists, addressing existing operational challenges, and introducing bus services connecting Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) with major tourist destinations across the country.

Progress of the ongoing cleaning and maintenance work at the Beira Lake was also reviewed during the discussions. Additionally, officials explored the potential use of circuit bungalows owned by the Mahaweli Authority and the Irrigation Department as a means of supporting and promoting the tourism sector.

The meeting further addressed issues faced by tourists and the role of the tourist police in resolving such concerns, the PMD stated.
