Strategic Agreements Established: Turkmen Universities Collaborate with CLEC
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Three Turkmen universities have solidified collaboration with the Chinese Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) under the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, aiming to enhance the qualifications of Turkmen Chinese language educators, as reported by the MIC. The agreements were formalized during the visit of CLEC General Director Ma Jianqing to Turkmenistan, where partnerships were established with the leadership of Turkmen State University (named after Magtymguly), Turkmen National Institute of World Languages (named after D. Azadi), and the International University of Humanities and Development.
These agreements outline CLEC’s commitment to supporting Turkmen universities in cultivating highly skilled teaching personnel for Chinese language instruction. Additionally, plans include the dispatch of Chinese language teachers to these partner universities.
CLEC underscores the significant expansion of cultural and educational ties between China and Turkmenistan in the last decade, with Chinese language studies flourishing in over 10 secondary schools in Turkmenistan, along with the availability of specialized language courses. CLEC, as a non-profit educational organization backed by the Ministry of Education of China, plays a pivotal role in fostering international language education partnerships.
