Dubai, The Gulf Observer: The highly anticipated fifth edition of the UAE SWAT Challenge concluded yesterday at the Training City in Al Ruwayyah, Dubai. The event, graced by the presence of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, brought together tactical team leaders from 41 countries, showcasing the impressive skills and professionalism of 73 participating teams from across the globe.

The final day of the challenge featured the intense ‘Obstacle’ challenge, marking the culmination of the five main challenges that unfolded since February 3. The competitions underscored the exceptional capabilities of the participating teams, highlighting their dedication to training, professionalism, and competitive spirit.

Organized through the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Interior, led by His Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Dubai Police, the UAE SWAT Challenge 2024 achieved remarkable success under His Highness’s commitment to hosting the challenge for the fifth consecutive year. The event aimed at enhancing the preparedness of police teams in the UAE and fostering the exchange of experiences with international counterparts.

Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri commended the success of the fifth edition, expressing gratitude to the UAE leadership for their unwavering support to Dubai Police. He highlighted that hosting global competitions of this caliber reinforces Dubai’s position as a premier destination for world-class events.

Al Marri emphasized the UAE SWAT Challenge’s role in providing tactical teams and special units worldwide with a platform to compete on an international stage and showcase their prowess. “The challenge offers an opportunity for police forces to engage, acquire new skills, and strengthen cooperation at both regional and international levels,” he remarked.

The Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police underscored the substantial increase in the number of participating teams and countries this year, emphasizing the heightened level of competition and preparedness demonstrated by all participants.
