Sultan of Oman Issues Royal Pardon for 175 Inmates on Prophet's Birthday

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander, has granted a royal pardon to 175 prison inmates in commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday. The Oman News Agency (ONA) reported that the pardon includes both Omani citizens and foreign nationals convicted of various offenses.

This special gesture, marking the Prophet’s birthday in the Islamic year 1446 AH, reflects His Majesty’s compassion and consideration for the families of those affected. The royal pardon is in line with the longstanding tradition of clemency on significant religious occasions in the Sultanate of Oman.

The decision is expected to bring relief to the families of the pardoned individuals, symbolizing the values of forgiveness and mercy that the occasion represents.
