Sultan of Oman Receives Call from UN Secretary-General on Regional Developments

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received a telephone call on Sunday from António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, during which the two leaders discussed a range of regional developments and international peace efforts.
During the call, the UN Secretary-General expressed deep appreciation for His Majesty the Sultan’s pivotal role and the efforts of the Omani government in promoting peace, reducing tensions, and supporting stability across the region.
Guterres commended Oman’s principled diplomacy, noting its instrumental contribution to restoring maritime navigation in the Red Sea and facilitating a cessation of hostilities between the United States and the authorities in Sana’a, Yemen. He also praised Oman’s ongoing mediation in the indirect nuclear talks between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States, reiterating his strong support for these efforts aimed at safeguarding international peace and security.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham reaffirmed that Oman’s involvement in such diplomatic initiatives is rooted in its unwavering commitment to the welfare of all nations and to the broader cause of peace. He also expressed his appreciation for the Secretary-General’s efforts and the United Nations’ continued initiatives to foster peace, stability, and harmony worldwide.
