Sweden Announces Largest Military Aid Package for Ukraine Worth $1.25 Billion

Stockholm, The Gulf Observer: Swedish Defence Minister Pål Jonson has announced a new aid package for Ukraine valued at SEK 13.5 billion (approximately USD 1.25 billion), marking Sweden’s largest single military assistance package since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022.
Speaking on Thursday, Jonson emphasized the urgency of increased European support for Ukraine, stating that Russia currently holds the initiative in the ongoing war. He underscored the importance of bolstering Ukraine’s defense capabilities to counter continued aggression.
“Among other things, we’re financing Ukrainian investments in drones and long-range missiles,” Jonson stated.
As part of the package, the Swedish Armed Forces will supply Ukraine with 16 combat boats, 1,500 anti-tank missiles, 146 military trucks, and 200 armor-piercing shells, further enhancing Kyiv’s defensive and operational capacity.
The new aid underscores Sweden’s commitment to supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and security amid the ongoing conflict.
