Doha, The Gulf Observer: Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa met with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam in Doha to discuss strengthening cooperation and advancing bilateral relations between their two countries, media reports said Saturday.

The meeting was held as both leaders commenced their participation in the 23rd edition of the Doha Forum, which opened earlier in the day under the theme “Justice in Action: Beyond Promises to Progress.”

According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), President Sharaa attended the forum’s opening session, though no additional details were provided regarding his engagements.

The previous edition, held in December 2024 under the theme “The Innovation Imperative,” drew more than 5,000 participants and featured over 350 speakers, underscoring the forum’s growing role as a major platform for global dialogue.
