Tajikistan and European Union Discuss Strengthening Cooperation on Security and Transnational Crime

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: On January 22, 2026, a meeting was held between the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Colonel-General of Militia Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro, and the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Tajikistan, Radoslav Darski.

During the meeting, both sides discussed measures to strengthen bilateral cooperation in combating terrorism, extremism, cybercrime, drug trafficking, and other forms of transnational organized crime. Particular emphasis was placed on enhancing information exchange and collaboration in the search for wanted individuals.

The parties also exchanged views on issues related to global peace and stability, reaffirming their mutual commitment to further develop and expand cooperation across shared areas of concern.

It was highlighted that sustained joint efforts will be essential for effectively countering terrorism, extremism, radicalism, and transnational criminal activities, including cybercrime and illicit drug trafficking.
