Tajikistan Records Progress in Employment Under State Programme

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: Employment agencies across Tajikistan registered a total of 154,822 applicants in 2025, according to Minister of Labor, Migration, and Employment Solekha Holmakhmadzoda, media reports said.

Of the registered applicants, 120,391 citizens were recorded as job seekers, while 67,853 were officially granted unemployed status. As of December 1, 2025, the number of registered unemployed in the country stood at 58,600.

The minister noted that Tajikistan’s State Programme for Promoting Employment for 2023–2027 produced tangible results during the year. A total of 72,695 individuals secured jobs in 2025, exceeding the annual target and achieving 102.4 percent of the planned figures.

Particular progress was recorded in employment support for vulnerable groups. Under designated quota schemes, 8,759 citizens requiring special social protection were provided with jobs, fulfilling 99.5 percent of the programme’s target.

The government has described the results as evidence of the effectiveness of ongoing employment policies aimed at reducing unemployment and strengthening labor market participation across the country.
