Tashkent holds International Stone Sculpture Symposium "Tashkent – 2023"

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, to increase environmental knowledge and culture of the population, strengthen friendship and cultural ties between peoples, improve the architecture and landscape of the city of Tashkent, is holding the 2nd International Stone Sculpture Symposium “Tashkent – 2023”.

The symposium provides for the sculpting of sculptural works at most 2 meters in size (without a pedestal) for their placement in places of environmental education, tourist sites, and public parks in Tashkent.

Specialists from the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, the Creative Union of Artists of Uzbekistan, and the Academy of Arts of the Republic of Uzbekistan selected 30 sketches for the competition. 10 foreign and 11 local professional sculptors are taking part in the symposium.

During a month, they will create sculptures dedicated to ecology, climate change, the impact of modern urban planning on the environment, and the consequences of the Aral tragedy.
