Tashkent Hosts Gala Concert Marking the 75th Anniversary of the People’s Republic of China

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: A grand concert was held in Tashkent to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, drawing a large audience eager to celebrate this milestone and enjoy a vibrant cultural program. The event, organized with the support of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Culture, showcased the deepening cultural ties between the two nations.

Wang Jiwei, Advisor at the Chinese Embassy in Uzbekistan, addressed the attendees, extending his heartfelt congratulations on the occasion. He reflected on China’s transformative journey over the past 75 years, from overcoming significant challenges to emerging as a prosperous and influential nation. Wang Jiwei highlighted the importance of cultural cooperation between China and Uzbekistan in his remarks, noting the essential role culture plays in fostering understanding and unity.

“Culture serves as a bridge between peoples. Earlier this year, the Presidents of China and the esteemed President Shavkat Mirziyoyev jointly announced the elevation of bilateral relations to a new level—an all-weather comprehensive partnership in a new era—and the creation of a China-Uzbekistan community of shared destiny from a higher starting point. I am confident that today’s event promotes mutual understanding and brings our peoples closer,” he said.

Shokhrukh Aliboev, Advisor to Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Culture, also addressed the gathering, congratulating the guests and participants on this historic anniversary. He expressed his appreciation to the organizers for their efforts in bringing Chinese art to Uzbekistan. “Today, the people of our republic witness yet another celebration of Chinese culture, which has become an important event in the cultural life of Uzbekistan,” Aliboev remarked.

The gala concert featured a rich array of creative performances from both Uzbek and Chinese ensembles. Among the performers were the “Tuman” ensemble of the State Grand Theatre, the choir of the State Conservatory, the youth team from Uzbekistan’s Wushu Federation, and several other talented groups. The program offered a blend of traditional and modern performances, providing the audience with a vivid cultural experience that celebrated the festive harmony between the two nations.

The collaboration of artists symbolized the enduring cultural and humanitarian ties between China and Uzbekistan, reinforcing both nations’ commitment to deepening their friendship and cooperation.

In his closing remarks, Wang Jiwei expressed his gratitude to the organizers and participants, expressing hope for continued cultural exchanges that will further strengthen the bond between the two countries. He emphasized that such events play a crucial role in building a shared future for China and Uzbekistan.

The concert, held in an atmosphere of friendship and understanding, underscored the growing cultural ties between the two nations. Attendees and performers alike left with the assurance that these exchanges will continue to foster closer connections between the peoples of China and Uzbekistan.

The anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China is a major national celebration, observed annually on October 1. The establishment of the PRC was proclaimed by Mao Zedong on October 1, 1949, during a landmark rally in Tiananmen Square, Beijing.
