The film, which delves into the profound choices individuals face when confronted with death, earned 15.61 million yuan (approximately 2.20 million U.S. dollars) on Sunday. Since its release on May 1, “The Last Frenzy” has amassed a total revenue of 696 million yuan.
Following closely, the action crime thriller “Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In” secured the second spot, generating 13.04 million yuan in box office sales on the same day.
The American sci-fi film “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” ranked third, with daily earnings of 7.59 million yuan.
Overall, the total box office revenue on the Chinese mainland reached 74.52 million yuan on Sunday, reflecting a strong performance across various genres and highlighting the robust state of the Chinese film industry.
