Tight Race Between Trump and Harris Ahead of U.S. Presidential Election

New York, The Gulf Observer: With the U.S. presidential election just two months away, recent polls indicate a highly competitive race between Republican nominee and former president Donald Trump and Democratic candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris. According to a survey conducted by The New York Times and Siena College, Trump holds a slight lead with 48 percent of voter support, placing him just one percentage point ahead of Harris.

However, when averaging polls conducted nationwide, Harris has gained a narrow advantage with 49 percent, giving her a 2-point lead over Trump. These results reflect the unpredictable nature of the race as both candidates prepare for their first televised debate on September 10. The debate, to be held at ABC News’ studios in New York, is expected to be a pivotal event as each candidate seeks to win over undecided voters ahead of the November 5 election.

Despite her slight lead, nearly 30 percent of survey respondents admitted they were not well-informed about Harris’s political stance, signaling potential challenges for the Democratic candidate in solidifying her platform among the electorate. In contrast, a majority of voters expressed familiarity with Trump’s policies, given his previous term as president.

As the election nears, both Trump and Harris are expected to intensify their campaigns, focusing on key battleground states and undecided voters, whose support could prove decisive in determining the outcome.
