Tô Lâm Arrives in US to Attend Inaugural Gaza Board of Peace Meeting

Maryland, The Gulf Observer: The special aircraft carrying Tô Lâm, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Việtnam, and his entourage landed at Joint Base Andrews at noon (local time) on February 18 to attend the inaugural meeting of the Gaza Board of Peace.
The February 18–20 visit is being undertaken at the invitation of Donald Trump, who also serves as the Founding Chairman of the Board.
Upon arrival, General Secretary Tô Lâm and the Vietnamese delegation were welcomed by Vietnamese Ambassador to the United States Nguyễn Quốc Dũng; Ambassador and Head of the Vietnamese Mission to the United Nations Đỗ Hùng Việt; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Đặng Hoàng Giang; Consul General of Việt Nam in San Francisco Hoàng Anh Tuấn; Consul General of Việt Nam in Houston Hoàng Thùy Dương; along with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Washington, D.C.
As a founding member of the Gaza Board of Peace, Việt Nam has expressed its readiness to work closely with fellow members to enhance the Board’s role in promoting sustainable peace and reconstruction efforts in Gaza. The initiative aims to advance peacebuilding measures in line with resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of all parties, particularly the Palestinian people, in accordance with international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
General Secretary Tô Lâm’s participation in the Board’s inaugural meeting underscores Việt Nam’s consistent support for international peace efforts and its commitment to reconstruction initiatives in Gaza. The visit is also expected to further strengthen Việt Nam–United States cooperation on regional and global issues, reflecting the shared vision under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations.
