“Tourism Hackathon 2025” to Kick Off in Duqm

Duqm, The Gulf Observer: A youth ideas competition titled “Tourism Hackathon 2025” is set to commence in Duqm, Governorate of Al Wusta, from 27 to 31 August 2025.
Organized by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in cooperation with the private sector, the competition seeks to support the development of Oman’s tourism and hospitality sectors by providing a platform for youth, entrepreneurs, and innovators to present smart solutions that align with the evolving needs of the industry.
The initiative aims to motivate and empower talented Omani youth to think creatively and address sectoral challenges through applicable solutions that foster sustainable growth and enhance the competitiveness of the tourism sector.
The event will bring together innovators, entrepreneurs, and university students to work on projects related to smart tourism destinations, visitor experiences, tourism events and activities, sustainable tourism, digital innovation, and the preservation of heritage and culture.
By hosting the hackathon, the Sultanate of Oman reaffirms its commitment to promoting innovation, nurturing future skills, and supporting the long-term growth of the tourism and hospitality sectors.
