Turkic-speaking youth kicks off in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The International Festival “Turkic-speaking youth” has kicked off in ancient Kokand, Uzbekistan.

More than 200 young people from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan are taking part in this event, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Agency for Youth Affairs, the Fergana Regional Authority together with the International Organization of Turkic Culture – TURKSOY.

The opening ceremony of the festival took place at Kokand University. Deputy Hokim of the region Khurshidjon Akhmedov welcomed the youth and called on all participants to be active. He noted that this event aims to increase the love of young men and women for the history and national cultural heritage of Turkic peoples, further enhance collaboration in tourism with the member states of the Organization of Turkic States, and implement promising ideas and projects of youth in tourism.

Reading Day, sports competitions in national sports and ethnosports, cultural and entertainment events, roundtable discussions on running youth business, making handicrafts, creative dialogues with young people, and meetings with famous figures of theater and cinema will be organized within the framework of the festival , which will run until July 15.

It is also planned to hold an Evening of Friendship and trips to the sights of Kokand, an exhibition of folk crafts, a visit to the International Pottery Center in Rishtan district, and the lavender gardens of the Mehrigiyo small enterprise in Uchkuprik district.
