Turkish Defence Firms Aselsan and Roketsan Sign Strategic Agreements with Indonesia

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Turkish defence industry giants Aselsan and Roketsan have entered into a series of strategic agreements with Indonesia for the transfer of advanced defence technologies. The agreements were signed under the leadership of Türkiye’s Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) in a ceremony held in Jakarta on Monday.
The signing event, which took place in the Indonesian capital, was attended by representatives from the Turkish defence firms and Indonesian President-elect and Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto. Haluk Gorgun, president of the SSB, hailed the occasion as a “historic moment reflecting the strong ties between Türkiye and Indonesia.”
Under the terms of the agreements, Aselsan will supply Indonesia with several cutting-edge defence systems, including the remote-controlled stabilised weapon system “SARP,” the four-dimensional search radar “CENK,” the Fire Control System, and the firm’s Data Link technology. Roketsan will provide the air defence missile system “SUNGUR,” the cruise missile “CAKIR,” and the smart micro munition “MAM-L.”
In addition to these major equipment transfers, memorandums of understanding were signed covering the transfer of unmanned surface vehicles, tank modernisation programs, and missile system maintenance. These agreements are expected to further bolster Indonesia’s defence capabilities and strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
The deals signify a deepening of the strategic partnership between Türkiye and Indonesia, underscoring the mutual commitment to enhancing defence and security ties.
