Turkish FM Discusses Gaza Crisis with Hamas Leader Ismail Haniyeh
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan, held a significant telephone conversation on Tuesday with Hamas Political Bureau Chief, Ismail Haniyeh, to address the deteriorating situation in the besieged Gaza Strip amid ongoing Israeli military operations.
During the call, both leaders expressed deep concerns over the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The discussions focused on the catastrophic conditions faced by the residents due to what was described as Tel Aviv’s continuous and devastating military campaign. Minister Fidan and Chief Haniyeh underscored the severe shortages of food and the rapid spread of diseases, particularly in the northern regions of Gaza.
The conversation also covered the latest developments regarding ceasefire negotiations. Both parties highlighted the challenges in progressing towards a ceasefire, noting that efforts have been hindered by what they termed as Israel’s obstructionist tactics.
Minister Fidan reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment to advocating for humanitarian relief and supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the violence and addressing the urgent needs of the Gazan population.
