Türkiye Among Top 5 Largest Trading Partners of Kazakhstan: President Tokayev
Astana, The Gulf Observer: Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Numan Kurtulmuş, Chair of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, during his visit to Kazakhstan, according to the Akorda press service.
The meeting focused on further strengthening the enhanced strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Türkiye. This discussion is particularly significant as it precedes the 30th anniversary of the Agreement on Friendship and Cooperation between the two nations.
President Tokayev highlighted Türkiye’s pivotal role in Kazakhstan’s economy, noting that it ranks among the top five largest trading partners and the top ten largest investors. He emphasized that last year’s trade volume reached 6 billion US dollars and expressed confidence that it would rise to 10 billion US dollars in the near future.
Numan Kurtulmuş expressed his gratitude for the President’s hospitality and warm reception. The parties also exchanged views on deepening cooperation among the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) member countries and within international organizations. They also discussed the schedule of upcoming high-level meetings.
In conclusion, President Tokayev expressed optimism that Turkish athletes would actively participate in the V World Nomad Games, scheduled to be held in Astana this September.
